Jennifer Blanes | Wellness Retreat Planning Tips | FL & Abroad
In our Women in Wellness series, we spotlight inspiring women who are making waves in the wellness community. Today, we're excited to introduce you to Jennifer Blanes, CMP, CHWC, founder of Planning Wellness, whose approach to wellness retreats and intentional travel offers transformative experiences that extend far beyond a typical vacation.

Meeting Jennifer Blanes
With a background in luxury meetings and events, Jennifer brings a unique perspective to wellness travel. As a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and Certified Health and Wellness Coach (CHWC), she has developed a specialized approach that merges her expertise in event planning with her passion for holistic wellness.
"Wellness retreats and intentional travel are powerful tools in a holistic approach to health," Jennifer explains. "They support mental clarity, emotional reset, physical rest, and spiritual connection."
Beyond Vacation: The Transformative Power of Wellness Travel
Contrary to the misconception that wellness travel and retreats are merely indulgent luxuries, Jennifer views them as intentional investments in mental, emotional, and physical health. Her approach focuses on creating experiences that provide lasting benefits.
"Whether it's a full retreat or a mindful weekend getaway, these experiences often bring clarity, breakthroughs, and sustainable self-care habits that ripple through every part of your life long after the experience," she shares. "This in turn translates into a better home and work life."
Jennifer emphasizes that wellness travel doesn't have to be expensive to be impactful. The value comes from the intention behind the experience rather than the price tag.

Practical Tips for Bringing Wellness into Everyday Life
Jennifer believes that elements of retreat living can be incorporated into daily routines. Here are her practical tips for bringing more wellness and intention into everyday life:
-
Schedule Rest Like a Meeting: If you struggle to find downtime or prioritize sleep, put rest and self-care time on your calendar and protect it with the same importance as a client call.
-
Create Daily "Retreat Moments": Light a candle, play calming music, or step outside for 5 minutes of intentional breathing or a walk in fresh air. These small rituals reset your nervous system and anchor your energy.
-
Align Your Environment with Your Intentions: Clear clutter and add calming scents or nature elements to your space. Your environment should support the wellness lifestyle you want to live.
Try This at Home: A Daily Reset Ritual
Ready to experience the power of a mini-retreat in your daily life? Jennifer recommends this 2-minute Daily Reset Ritual:
-
Take 3 deep breaths, in through the nose, out through the mouth.
-
Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Say to yourself: "I am here. I am safe. I am allowed to rest."
-
Set a one-word intention for the day (peace, clarity, joy) and write it somewhere visible.
"This practice helps you return to yourself, no matter how busy the day gets," Jennifer explains.

Finding Clarity Through Intentional Experiences
Jennifer's journey to founding Planning Wellness came from recognizing the burnout prevalent in the professional world. "My background in luxury meetings and events showed me how transformative intentional experiences can be, but I also saw how burnt out so many professionals were," she reflects. "As I became a Pilates instructor and certified health and wellness coach, I felt called to merge these worlds."
What Jennifer sees most often in her work is a transformation in her clients. "Clarity and alignment. Clients often begin the process feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, and through our work, whether planning a retreat or mapping out a wellness travel plan, they reconnect with their purpose, values, and joy."
Her personal wellness journey led to important realizations that now shape her work: "I used to believe rest was earned, not essential. It took my own experience with burnout to realize that slowing down isn't a weakness, it's a power move."
The Power of Community and Support
Beyond her retreat planning services, Jennifer is passionate about empowering wellness leaders and practitioners. She offers resources like a free Retreat Planning Timeline for wellness leaders thinking of hosting their first retreat, as well as done-for-you retreat planning and custom wellness travel itineraries.
"Planning Wellness isn't just about trips, it's about transformation," she says. "Whether you're a yoga instructor, coach, healer, or wellness worshipper (as we like to call our tribe), we help you craft meaningful, aligned experiences that bring your vision to life while honoring your own well-being."
